Houston Aquarium

The Houston Aquarium came together when two Houston landmarks were merged into one fantastic amusement and entertainment complex. The central waterworks building was combined with the fire station No. 1 centre and built into a huge six acre entertainment and dining area. The aquarium tank has over 500,000 gallons of water and is home to over 200 species of fish and other aquatic animals. There is a full service restaurant, ballroom facilities and even an upscale bar. There is city shopping and a many other amusements in and around the Houston Aquarium.

The Houston Aquarium also has games and entertainment in addition to an aquarium adventure exhibit. The Houston Aquarium adventure exhibit has a Louisiana Swamp with live alligators and even a rain forest with poison dart fogs. As well as the adventure exhibit, there is the Houston Aquarium diving bell Ferris wheel, were patrons can have a great view of the downtown Houston skyline.

Having dinner at the full service restaurant with the glass aquarium and observing the various fish and other aquatic mammals that are just swimming by within a few inches of you on the other side of the glass is a great experience. There are sharks, fish, stingrays and many more fish that you can enjoy while you are having your dinner in the restaurant in the Houston Aquarium.

The Houston Aquarium is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 10 pm and on weekends on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 11 pm. There is also a small train that tours the complex. They call this train the CP Huntington train. With so much to see at the Houston Aquarium, we know you will not be disappointed when you spend a day or two at the Houston Aquarium.
