Long Beach AquariumThe Long Beach Aquarium, also known as the Aquarium of the Pacific, is one of the most vibrant and elaborate aquariums in the United States. Located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, the Long Beach Aquarium presents undersea life in its natural beauty with plenty of things to see and do. The aquarium has over 12,500 animals on display comprised of nearly 1,000 different species to surprise and amaze you. One of the most impressive exhibits is the Southern California/Baja Gallery. Walking in to the display you can’t help but be impressed by the Blue Cavern. A giant 142,000-gallon tank contains ocean in habitants from the Southern California region of the pacific. Along with this there is also a large sea lion and seal habitat. Of course this is just the beginning of what the Long Beach Aquarium has to offer. There is also a unique Life in Darkness on display at the Long Beach Aquarium, which houses many interesting and odd creatures. Fish with bioluminescent patches and Pineconefish that really does resemble a pinecone are just some of the fish here, which will surely leave an impression on you. There are many more fish here that you have surely not seen before and will not forget. The Tropical Reef Habitat is the largest display at the Long Beach Aquarium. There are 350,000 gallons of water filled with beautiful coral, sea turtles, and also sharks. This display is also where you will find the seahorses and sea dragons. There is a whole world to discover in this one exhibit alone so be sure and take your time as you wonder through this exhibit. You will have a lot to take in. The Long Beach Aquarium is a great place for aquarium enthusiasts of all levels.
