Monterey AquariumThe Monterey Aquarium displays many of the wondrous creatures of the deep sea, making it available for everyone to experience what would otherwise only be available to an underwater explorer. There is a vast variety of exhibits, so you are assured to see your favorite sea animal in its natural habitat. The living kelp forest looks so real you will wonder whether you are looking right into the ocean. Among the swaying kelp are a multitude of fish including sardines, wolf eels and even sharks. This exhibit is boasted as one of the tallest aquarium exhibits in the world, so don’t miss your chance to experience this part of the Monterey Aquarium. For the beginner and experienced aquarist alike, the wonders of the sea at the Monterey Aquarium are surely impressive. Once you have seen the kelp exhibit you will not want to miss the giant octopus on display. These 8-legged creatures are hard to look away from, with their odd appearance and graceful motion. Not to lower the greatness of the other exhibits but the open ocean exhibit is an awe-inspiring site. The aquarium’s size is an enormous one million gallons and houses the largest community of open ocean fish in any aquarium. Also there is the largest permanent collection of jellyfish in the U.S. You will be impressed by the sheer size of the display and also its inhabitants. Many of these fish have no chance of fitting in your home aquarium. The Monterey Aquarium however has many of these fish under one roof. Passing by the Monterey Aquarium you might spot a blue whale or more than 30 other species of sea mammal. So not only is there a lot to see inside but outside along the shores as well
