Mystic AquariumThe Mystic Aquarium is home to the famous Dr. Ballard and his team of researchers and offers some of the most unique displays. There is even a presentation of the most famous ship, the Titanic. You can get an up close look at how it once looked and see amazing artifact from the ocean floor. Along with this ship there is also another display detailing the ship that John F. Kennedy set out on during World War II. These types of displays are one of a kind and cannot be seen anywhere else. You would not imagine that you would get a history lesson from an aquarium but here you can. You won’t realize how much you learn as it is mixed in with fun and wonder. There are also very good exhibits of many different habitats from the Alaskan coast to the Amazon. Along the way be sure to stop by the Ray touch pool where you get a chance to touch the back of a cownose ray as it goes swimming by. This attraction is enjoyed by adults and children alike. It is not everyday that you get a chance to touch an underwater animal and it is sure to be something to remember. In the main building you will find unlimited adventure as you can watch sea lions swim from an underwater perspective. There is an exhibit on rays and coral reef. There is even a bat cave for those who dare to enter. You will begin to get a feel for just how diverse the planets marine life is. The Mystic Aquarium is located in Mystic Connecticut, which is about 2 and a half hours from New Your City. Adult tickets are $17.50 and its $12.50 for children.
