NY Aquarium

 

The NY aquarium has exhibits of over 8000 animals with a huge diverse display of animals and aquatic life from as far away as south east Asia, Africa and even the Artic. They also have displays of aquatic life from the Hudson River. The NY aquarium is the only aquarium in New York City and is linked with all of the other metropolitan parks across the country. The NY aquarium has as one of it’s objectives the desire to educate people on the value and role of the oceans across the planet. They aim to encourage people to protect the marine and fresh water ecosystems across the planet.

Sceientists from the NY Aquarium are studying wildlife from over 50 countries and bring the many species to the NY Aquarium for your understanding and for you to learn about the many different fish and aquatic species that exist around the world. Whether it is a jelly fish or an octopus, you will enjoy many hours at the NY Aquarium viewing the 8000 plus species at the NY Aquarium. The NY aquarium is open 365 days a year, however they do vary their hours depending on the season. Spring is typically from 10am to 5 pm, while in summer months they will stay open until 6pm and 7 pm on weekends and holidays. During the winter months they close at 4:30 pm every day of the winter. Patrons are urged to check with the NY Aquarium for the hours that they are open. Tickets to get into the NY aquarium are typically $12 for adults and $8.00 for children with seniors also getting in for $8.00.
