Ripleys Aquarium

 

Ripleys Aquarium is a huge $40 million, 87,000 square foot aquarium experience, located in Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is one of South Carolina's most visited attractions, where you can see some of the worlds most beautiful, fascinating and dangerous aquatic life. Patrons will see menacing 10-foot sharks as they travel through Dangerous Reef, a 750,000 gallon tank, on the world's longest (330-foot) moving glide path. There are other habitats to see such as Ray Bay, highlighting a variety of rays from multiple viewing levels at Ripleys Aquarium. There is Friendship Flats, where you can touch Atlantic and Southern Cow-Nose Rays and Bonnet-Head sharks. Through and acrylic glass window at Rainbow Rock you can see a stunning view of thousands of brilliantly colored fishes from the Pacific from Hawaii, Australia and the Indian.

There is a freshwater Rio Amazon exhibit which showcases piranha and other exotic species unique to the Amazon rain forest at Ripleys Aquarium. Observe Pacific Giant Octopus, sea anemones, living corals, jellies, weedy sea dragons, sea horses, and pipefish in The Living Gallery. The Schooling Fish Tank is home to a unique collection of beautiful lookdowns in a 10- foot cylindrical tank.

Pick up horseshoe crabs at The Sea-For-Yourself Discovery Center, participate in an interactive, multimedia playground and educational resource center that will fascinat children and adults of all ages. You can see dive shows and marine education classes that are presented hourly.

General admission for entry to Ripleys aquarium is $16.95 for adults, $9.95 for children from ages 5 to 11 and $3.95 for children ages 2 years to 4 years.
